Which Team Building Format Suits Your Team?

The easiest way to choose a format is to look at where your team will be when the event takes place.

If everyone is getting together at the same venue, a Fully Managed event is usually the most complete option. If the group is together but you need to keep delivery costs down, Remote Host or Self Run may be worth considering.

If people are working from home or joining from different locations, Virtual is likely to make more sense. And if some people will be together while others are remote, that’s where Hybrid comes in.

Here’s how each format works.

Fully Managed

When Your Team Is Together in Person

If your team is getting together at an office, hotel, conference venue or another location, Fully Managed is our main format.

A Dynamic Events event manager comes to the venue with the equipment required for your chosen activity. We set everything up, brief the group, run the activity and take care of the scoring and results.

This is generally the format to look at when you have the group together, have the budget for onsite delivery and want the full Dynamic Events experience at your venue.

It can also work particularly well when team building is one part of a larger event, such as a company away day or conference, because we can arrive, set up and run the activity within your schedule.

Remote Host

When Your Team Is Together but You Don’t Need an Onsite Host

Remote Host is also for teams who will be together in person.

The difference is that our event manager doesn’t travel to the venue. Your participants use their own smartphones and we host the activity by live video instead.

We brief the group, monitor and support teams while they play and deliver the results at the end.

With no event manager travel and no iPads to transport to the venue, Remote Host can reduce some of the costs involved in delivery while still giving you a live Dynamic Events host throughout the activity.

Virtual

When Your Team Is Working From Home or Spread Across Different Locations

If your employees won’t be together in one place, you don’t need to organise a physical venue to run team building.

With a Virtual event, participants join online from wherever they are. That could be employees working from home, colleagues based in different offices or a team spread across different countries.

A Dynamic Events event manager hosts the activity live online, briefs the group, runs and supports the event and delivers the results.

Everyone takes part remotely, so Virtual is the format to consider when there isn’t going to be one physical location for the group.

Hybrid

When Part of the Team Is Together and Part Is Remote

Sometimes a team doesn’t fit neatly into either in-person or Virtual.

You might have most employees attending an event at one location while other colleagues are working remotely or based elsewhere.

That’s a Hybrid event.

Some participants take part together in person while others join online. Our event manager hosts remotely so both can be included in the activity.

The difference between Virtual and Hybrid is simply where the participants are. With Virtual, everyone is remote. With Hybrid, you have a mixture of in-person and remote participants.

Self Run

When You’re Happy to Run the Activity Internally

Self Run is another option for a team that will be together in person.

Instead of having a Dynamic Events event manager host the activity, we prepare you beforehand. One of our event managers meets with you and your team captains, explains how the activity works and answers your questions. We provide the tools, training and support required, and you can contact us by phone during the event if you need help.

This gives you another way to run an in-person activity when you don’t need a Dynamic Events host on the day.

A Simple Way to Narrow Down Your Options

If you’re organising team building and aren’t sure which format you need, start with where everyone will be.

• Everyone together at one venue: Fully Managed, Remote Host or Self Run.
• Everyone joining from home or different locations: Virtual.
• Some together and some joining remotely: Hybrid.

From there, we can look at your budget, group size, venue, available time and the type of activity you want to run.
