750 Person SolarBuddy Team Building Event at the Convention Centre Dublin

Moloney & Kelly approached Dynamic Events to deliver a large-scale team activity on behalf of Hexagon as part of the company's 2025 Sales Kickoff at the Convention Centre Dublin.

The brief was to involve 750 sales professionals in SolarBuddy: Hour of Power, an activity centred around assembling solar lights that support SolarBuddy's work addressing energy poverty.

With 750 participants and a busy conference schedule already in place, the practical challenge was fitting the activity into the wider event without disrupting the programme.

Planning for 750 Participants

Working with Moloney & Kelly, we planned the activity around the existing Sales Kickoff schedule at the CCD.

Materials were delivered to the venue the day before the event, with setup beginning at 9:30 AM on the day itself.

By the time participants arrived in the Forum, the SolarBuddy kits were ready on the tables.

Moving 750 People Between Sessions

One of the key logistical parts of the event was the transition from the keynote sessions in the Auditorium to the SolarBuddy activity in the Forum.

The 750 attendees moved from the Auditorium to the Forum in approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

With the kits already waiting on the tables, the activity could begin without having to distribute materials to 750 people after they entered the room.

Introducing SolarBuddy

Niall from Dynamic Events introduced the activity from the stage, using music and lighting as part of the presentation.

Participants then worked with their SolarBuddy kits as part of the Hour of Power activity, assembling solar lights while learning about the purpose behind the project and the issue of energy poverty.

Finishing with 750 SolarBuddy Lights

As lunch concluded, the room was darkened and participants switched on their SolarBuddy lights together.

With 750 lights illuminated across the Forum, the group gathered for a final photograph.

Delivering SolarBuddy at Scale

For an activity involving 750 participants, preparation and timing were central to the delivery.

Materials arrived at the CCD the previous day, setup began at 9:30 AM, the kits were ready before participants entered the Forum, and the transition of 750 people from the Auditorium took approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

It allowed SolarBuddy to fit into Hexagon's existing Sales Kickoff programme while involving the full group in the same activity.
