ESB Induction Event for New Employees

Bringing New Hires Together with Energy, Fun and Connection

Every month, ESB welcomes a new group of employees from around Ireland. They wanted a simple way to make that first day more engaging, more memorable, and more team focused. That’s where we came in.

We designed a fun and relaxed onboarding activity that fits neatly into their existing schedule. It runs at ESB’s head office in Dublin after their internal presentations and is all about helping new hires feel part of the team straight away.

Group sizes change depending on the month, but it usually includes between 30 and 90 people, with attendees travelling from offices across Ireland.

A Custom Game That Gets Everyone Involved

After the ESB team wraps up their morning talks, we step in with a branded activity that gets new hires working together and having a laugh.

We created a digital game that runs on iPads and features a light bulb graphic to represent bright ideas and fresh starts. It is packed with content that reflects ESB’s values, sustainability goals, and internal messaging. Some questions are based directly on what was shared earlier in the day. Others are designed to get people talking and connecting in a fun and informal way.

The event finishes with a show back of team photos and videos captured during the activity and a quick prize-giving moment for the winning group.

Same Format Each Month with Room to Adapt

This event runs like clockwork each month. The format stays consistent so it is easy for ESB’s People and Culture team to plan. We only update the game if their internal presentations change or if they ask us to switch things up.

It is a straightforward and effective way to deliver a consistent onboarding experience for large groups without extra admin or pressure.
