Hybrid Team Building Event For Dalata Hotel Group

Dalata Hotel were hosting an induction for new employees and they required a fun team building element that would form part of the 2 day conference. The main challenge being that most the participants would be in a hotel conference room in Dublin whilst others would be dialling in remotely from the UK. The team building element had to engage both those in Dublin and those in the UK.

The Process

We put forward our Level Up challenge that could be enjoyed by both the participants in person and those online.
On the day our remote host was beamed into the conference room in the hotel via Zoom call. The participants playing from the UK joined the remote host on the Zoom call. The host led the group through the intro and then the joining process for logging into the app. Once all participants were logged into the game the host opened a break out room for the team from the UK who were playing online and all the participants in the hotel sat in their teams at the hotel.

The game consisted of a broad mix of collaboration tasks like photo & video challenges and observational and trivia style questions. All the tasks in the app could be completed while exercising social distance and were also able to be completed virtually on the Zoom screen by the remote team.

The Result

All participants had a brilliant time getting to know each other whilst completing all the various challenges. The remote host closed the break out rooms so the remote players were brought back to the main room with the host whilst the participants in the hotel watched on the big screens in the conference room. The host then announced the winners and showed back the content that the participants had created.

Overall, the event was a massive success with all participants (remote and in person) having a great time getting to know each other.
