Resmed PEI Combine Change Management Training with Team Olympics at The Johnstown Estate

Resmed PEI contacted Dynamic Events about organising a team-building day in Meath for one of its business areas, with colleagues working across several teams.

They wanted people to get to know colleagues outside their usual teams and understand the importance of working together to get the job done.

The client was particularly interested in Team Olympics and wanted a daytime event at a location that would be accessible for employees travelling from different areas.

The priority was to give colleagues time together outside work, with activities that would get them talking, interacting and working as a team.

The Solution

Dynamic Events organised a full-day event for 44 participants at The Johnstown Estate in Co. Meath.

The programme included Detour Change Management Training in the morning, followed by Team Olympics in the afternoon.

Detour uses a business simulation to explore how teams deal with change and make decisions. Team Olympics involves outdoor games and team challenges, with groups competing against one another.

The combination meant colleagues could work together during a structured training session before spending the afternoon taking part in outdoor activities.

The Morning: Detour Change Management Training

The day started at 10:00 with tea, coffee and refreshments at The Johnstown Estate.

The meeting room was arranged with round tables, with participants working in smaller groups for the Detour session.

Detour is an interactive business simulation that challenges teams to respond to changing circumstances, make decisions and consider how their actions affect others.

The format gave colleagues a chance to work through business scenarios together, discussing their approach and making decisions as a group.

At 12:30, everyone headed to Fire & Salt, the estate's restaurant, for lunch.

The Afternoon: Team Olympics in the Wedding Garden

At 13:30, the group moved to The Johnstown Estate's Wedding Garden for Team Olympics.

The afternoon included inflatable games and team challenges, with activities such as inflatable basketball adding some friendly competition.

Teams took part in different activities, working together to complete challenges and earn points.

For Resmed PEI, it was a chance for colleagues to spend time together away from their desks, take part in something different and get to know people they might not work with regularly.

The event finished at 16:00, following an afternoon of outdoor activities.

The Outcome

Resmed PEI wanted colleagues from different teams to get to know one another and recognise the importance of working together.

The day included both business simulation training and outdoor team activities, giving colleagues time to work together outside their normal roles.

The client confirmed that the event delivered what they wanted and were pleased with how the day was organised and run.
