Teamwork Grand Council 2022

Brief

Teamwork were holding their Grand Council 2022 with over 300 Teamworkers from around the world arriving to Cork’s iconic Páirc Uí Chaoimh stadium. We were tasked by Teamwork with coming up with an engaging team building experience that could connect all the participants and help them get to know each other as part of the first day of their conference. Teamwork would like an experience that celebrated the global nature of the team and also include some Teamwork content.

There would also be a number of participants who would be dialling in remotely as they could not make it to Cork. An online version of the experience would be needed for these people also.

Solution

Our in house event technology team determined that our 'Around The World' challenge with a 'Teamwork' twist would be the ideal solution for this brief. The challenge takes your team on a globe-trotting trip around the world while putting your teamwork, collaboration and creativity to the test!

Our graphic designer came up with a custom Teamwork 'World Map' game screen using conference branding and colours. We also had the game skinned in the Teamwork conference branding.

There would be 7 Teamwork department stalls at the conference that the organisers wanted the participants to visit during the event. To incorporate these stalls into the game we included a round for each department, with 3 questions related to each. The catch being the participants had to physically walk to the stalls to get a code to unlock that stall's round in the game. They could then ask the people at the stall for the answers to the questions. This got the participants engaging with the different departments in the company.

As well as our event team on the ground in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, we had an event manager on a Zoom call with those dialling in remotely. We were able to use an adapted version of the same game for the online participants which gave them the same fun, engagement and experience as those playing in person.

Results

300 people over 40 teams took part in the event. Teams had great fun learning about different countries through the trivia challenges and created some brilliant photos and videos based on tasks from the different countries. Participants visited the stalls and engaged with the different departments to complete the Teamwork elements of the challenge. There was great fun and laughs at the end as our MC showed back the best photos and videos that were submitted.
