Uniting Sitecore's Global Teams Through a Multi-City Digital Treasure Hunt

The Brief

Sitecore wanted to run one team building activity for colleagues based in Dublin and Boston, with both offices taking part at the same time.

There were 22 participants divided into five teams:

• Dublin: 3 teams
• Boston: 2 teams

Instead of treating the two offices as separate events, we set up one Remote Host Digital Treasure Hunt involving everyone.

Five Teams, Two Cities, One Competition

The Dublin and Boston teams took on the same challenges and tasks using the Dynamic Events app.

All five teams competed on one combined leaderboard and could send each other messages via the app.

Running the Entire Event Remotely

Our Event Manager wasn't based in Dublin or Boston. The entire event was hosted from the Dynamic Events studio in Blessington, County Wicklow.

Microsoft Teams brought both locations together for the briefing before the five teams headed out into their respective cities with the Dynamic Events app.

From Blessington, our Event Manager managed the event across both locations while scores from Dublin and Boston fed into the same leaderboard.

Teams submitted their answers through the app and captured photos and videos as they completed the challenges.

At the end of the treasure hunt, both locations came back together remotely for the wrap-up, final scores and highlights from the event.

One Team Building Event Across Multiple Offices

The Sitecore event is a good example of what we can deliver when a company wants employees in different offices, cities or countries to take part together.

Having teams in different locations doesn't necessarily mean running separate events for each office. Our Multi-City Digital Treasure Hunt allows teams in different locations to take part in the same live competition, with shared challenges and a combined leaderboard.

For Sitecore, we managed the briefing, activity, technology, scoring and wrap-up remotely while five teams competed across Dublin and Boston.
