Wondering what other companies are choosing for team building? We looked at our bookings over the last year to find the six activities Dynamic Events clients booked most.

There are some familiar names in the list, but they are quite different events. Our number one gets teams outside exploring their location. Others turn a meeting room into a murder investigation, escape challenge or competition. Number six is more likely to have everyone recognising songs than solving clues.

Here are the six most-booked activities, starting with number one.

1. Digital Treasure Hunt

Digital Treasure Hunt was our most-booked team building activity over the last year.

Teams head outside with an iPad and a live GPS map showing hotspots around their location. Reaching a hotspot unlocks a challenge, which could involve trivia, local questions, photos or videos.

The route isn't dictated to the teams. They decide which hotspots to tackle and in what order, while a live leaderboard shows how they're doing against everyone else.

We build the treasure hunt around the event location, including the start and finish points. At the end, everyone comes back together for the showback, final scores and winner reveal.

It runs for 90 to 120 minutes and works well when you want to get people out of the meeting room and use the area around your office, hotel or event location.

2. Manor House Murder

Manor House Murder was our second most-booked activity.

A lawyer has been murdered at a school reunion and your teams have been brought in to investigate.

Using iPads, physical clues and evidence, they search the scene, work through witness statements, question suspects and piece together what happened before making their final accusation.

It's very different from a traditional quiz or series of short challenges because the whole activity follows one investigation from beginning to end.

Manor House Murder runs indoors for two hours and is available for groups of 10 to 300. It can be delivered at venues around Ireland.

3. Code Breaker

At number three is Code Breaker, a one-hour indoor challenge built around locked boxes, clues, props and a final safe.

Teams have to solve each stage to get closer to the final combination before the clock runs out.

One of the practical advantages is its format. We bring Code Breaker to an office, hotel or conference venue, and because it takes an hour, it can fit into an event where team building is only one part of the agenda.

We've had clients use it at the end of strategy sessions, as part of company offsites and alongside conferences.

Code Breaker is available for groups of 10 to 100.

4. The Escape

The Escape takes fourth place.

The team has been framed for an art heist and has to find the evidence needed to clear its name.

Teams search for clues, crack codes and solve puzzles as they unlock different stages of the investigation. A live leaderboard tracks progress while everyone races against the clock.

The important difference between this and going to a permanent escape room is that we bring The Escape to you. It can be set up in your office, hotel or conference venue, with our event manager handling the game materials, technology and room setup.

The full event runs for around 90 minutes and is available for groups of eight or more.

5. Level Up

Fifth is Level Up, which changes the challenge throughout the activity rather than asking everyone to solve one central mystery.

Teams work their way through ten levels containing trivia, puzzles and creative tasks. One challenge might be an audio round, while another could involve building a paper plane or recreating a film scene.

For each task, teams choose between easy, medium and hard options. The harder choice offers more points, but may take more time.

That changing format gives different people a chance to contribute as the game progresses.

Level Up runs indoors for 60 to 90 minutes and can accommodate groups from 8 to 400+.

6. Disco Bingo

Sixth on the list is Disco Bingo, and it's quite different from the other five.

Instead of numbers, the bingo cards contain songs and artists. Our host plays short music clips, participants mark off tracks they recognise and we add challenges between rounds.

It's closer to a company social or entertainment format than a puzzle-based activity, making it an option for staff parties, conference socials and company celebrations as well as team building.

We provide the host, sound and setup. Disco Bingo runs indoors for one hour and can accommodate groups from 50 to 1,000.

Which of the six would suit your event?

Popularity is useful if you're looking for ideas, but the most-booked activity isn't automatically the right one for every group.

If you want everyone outside and moving around, Digital Treasure Hunt is the obvious place to start.

If you're staying indoors, think about the type of activity you want. Manor House Murder gives you a two-hour investigation. Code Breaker is a shorter one-hour challenge. The Escape follows an escape-room format, while Level Up mixes lots of different tasks rather than following one storyline.

Disco Bingo is the outlier. If the activity is part of a company social, party or evening event, its music-based format gives you something quite different from the other five.
