Supporting Stride to Deliver a 260-Person Team Training Event in Mexico City
Dynamic Events partnered with Stride to deliver a customised Detour team training experience for 260 attendees in Mexico City, designed and delivered in just over five weeks.
When Stride was delivering a global Company Kick-Off event for Productboard in Mexico City, Dynamic Events was brought in as the team training specialist to design and deliver a large-scale experience.
With over 260 attendees and a clear focus on pushing beyond comfort zones, the brief required more than a standard team-building activity.
Dynamic Events led the design and delivery of a customised Detour business simulation, tailored to the event theme and audience.
With just over five weeks to prepare, the session was successfully delivered on-site in Mexico City for an international audience.
The Challenge
The brief came with clear expectations:
- Deliver a 3-hour team training session for 250+ attendees
- Align with the event theme “Getting Spark’d”
- Create an experience that was energising, practical, and memorable
- Work within a fully indoor conference setting
There were added complexities:
- International delivery outside Ireland
- A compressed planning timeline of just over five weeks
- A senior stakeholder group with high expectations
- The need to scale the experience across 30 teams simultaneously
Dynamic Events needed to design and deliver a solution that would work at scale, align with the event theme, and perform under pressure.
The Solution
Dynamic Events designed and delivered a customised Detour team training experience, working alongside Stride as part of the wider event delivery team.
This included:
- A fully branded “Getting Spark’d” version of Detour
- Integration of new and custom-designed challenges
- A scalable format for 30 teams running simultaneously
- Use of iPads to manage gameplay, scoring, and interaction
To ensure quality at scale, Managing Director and lead facilitator Niall O’Connor travelled to Mexico City to run the session in person.
The wider Dynamic Events team supported remotely, managing scoring and live content in real time.
The Experience
The session was designed as a fast-moving business simulation where teams had to adapt, collaborate, and make decisions under pressure.
Working in teams, participants:
- Responded to shifting challenges that required quick thinking and reallocation of resources
- Solved a mix of strategic and problem-solving tasks
- Used iPads to track progress, submit answers, and stay engaged throughout
- Competed while staying aligned within their teams
There was no fixed path to success. Teams had to adjust in real time and stay focused as conditions changed.
With 30 teams active at once, the room was fast-paced, competitive, and highly engaged.
Custom branding and materials, including challenge assets and visual elements, helped connect the experience directly to the “Getting Spark’d” theme.
The Result
The impact was clear across both attendees and leadership.
- Strong engagement across all 260 participants
- High energy maintained throughout the session
- Seamless delivery despite the scale and complexity
- Positive feedback from both the client and event stakeholders
One of the clearest indicators of success came from senior leadership. A key stakeholder, initially difficult to engage during planning, was fully involved and enjoying the experience once the session was underway.
Why This Worked
This event highlights how specialist team training can integrate into larger corporate events without adding complexity.
What made the difference:
- Clear ownership of the team training design and delivery
- Collaboration within a wider event delivery team
- The ability to scale the experience internationally
- On-site expert facilitation supported by a remote team
- Flexibility to deliver under tight timelines
Stride

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything, especially for the flexibility and support in pulling this team-building event together on such short notice. The feedback has been incredible across the board, from both leadership and attendees. It was a huge success! 👏👏👏👏
