Company Milestone Celebration for PrepayPower, Dublin

The Brief

PrepayPower got in touch about a company milestone celebration. They wanted to mark it properly, with something that felt like a real celebration and not just another onsite activity. The catch was that it had to happen on a normal working day, at their offices in Sandyford, Dublin, with around 200 employees who couldn't all down tools at once.

They asked us to take on the full event management: the concept, the activities, a competitive element to get people going, and the logistics, setup and running of the day itself. Staff needed to be able to step away from their desks, take part and get back to work, while still feeling part of one shared celebration.

Our idea

We turned the celebration into a games tournament spread across both of PrepayPower's buildings. Rather than bringing everyone to one room, we brought the games to them, with a full zone in each building so nobody was more than a short walk from the action.

The main building had two racing pods, Buzz Wire, Catch It and two interactive darts boards. On the top floor of the second building we set up two arcade machines, The Chaser, Lights Out and another Buzz Wire. Each zone had its own leaderboard and our own staff to run the games, keep scores and get people involved.

That gave the team the friendly competition they were after. People could play on their own or with colleagues, check where they stood, and come back later to try to climb the table. We also added a candy cart and popcorn station in each office, which kept people hanging around between games.

On the day

The event ran from 12pm to 3pm. Our crew arrived that morning, walked through the plan with the client and loaded in across both buildings.

Staff dropped in throughout the afternoon. The main building was very busy at times, while the second building became the competitive hub, with a great atmosphere in the canteen as colleagues fought it out for top spot.

When the games wrapped up, we handed the client the winners from every activity so they could recognise the top scorers.

The result

PrepayPower got a celebration that fitted around the working day instead of interrupting it. Staff joined in when it suited them, and three hours of games across two buildings meant the whole company got to share in the milestone.
