How The Cake Factory Works

Teams run a bakery

You and your team take over a fictional cake factory. Your goal is to produce as many high quality cakes as possible under time pressure while trying to reduce waste with customer satisfaction as a top priority.

Each round has a time limit

You plan, bake and deliver in short cycles. After each round, you reflect on what worked and what didn't, and implement a new plan.

You can upgrade your tools

Based on your performance, you can earn upgrades such as better recipes, equipment or extra time for the next round.

Roles and teamwork matter

Everyone takes on a role. You'll need to work on clear communication and quick decisions to keep production on track.

Facilitators run a debrief

After the game a facilitator connects the experience to real workplace challenges, focusing on communication, teamwork and strategy.
