How Before Mars Works
Your team tackles a series of decisions, manages resources and negotiates with other groups as the simulation unfolds. Afterwards, a facilitator uses the results to explore how everyone worked together.
Briefing & Team Setup
The facilitator introduces the simulation, explains the objectives and provides the information your team needs to get started. Participants work in small groups throughout the activity.
Decisions & Priorities
Working together, participants decide how to use their resources, which opportunities to pursue and how to respond as circumstances change. Their choices affect what happens next.
Negotiation & Cooperation
Teams move between tables to exchange information, negotiate and work with other groups. They must consider their own objectives while recognising when cooperation benefits everyone.
Results & Team Debrief
