How Does Big Picture Work?
Everyone starts with their own canvas and a small part of a mystery image. But painting is only half the challenge. Here's how individual pieces, a little detective work and plenty of conversations turn into one enormous mural.
A Mystery to Paint
Each person gets a canvas, paints and a numbered thumbnail showing just one small section of a much larger image. That's all they have to go on.
Pick Up Your Paintbrush
Using their thumbnail as a guide, everyone starts painting their own section. Our event managers are there to offer tips and help everyone get going.
Find Your Neighbours
Here's where the teamwork really starts. Participants use the numbers on their thumbnails to track down the people painting the sections next to theirs. That means getting up, moving around the room and talking to colleagues they might not normally work with.
Make the Pieces Match
Once they've found their neighbours, it's time to compare paintings. Does that line continue onto the next canvas? Is everyone using the same shade of blue? People check details, swap advice and make adjustments so their sections will fit together.
The Big Reveal
When the painting is finished, our team collects the canvases and assembles them into one large mural. Then comes the moment everyone's been waiting for: seeing what they've actually been painting all along.
